What’s Trending in Business Right Now (And How I'm Using It to Grow)

I’ve been keeping my eyes (and inbox) on what’s shifting in the business world lately—and wow, things are changing fast. Whether you're just starting out or already running a full-on empire, there are a few trends that are impossible to ignore in 2025.
Some of them I’m already using in my own business, and others are on my radar to try. I wanted to share what I’ve learned so far, not just as a trend-watcher—but as someone in the thick of it too.
1. AI Isn’t Just a Buzzword—It’s My New Team Member
This year, AI has become my behind-the-scenes assistant. From writing email drafts to helping me brainstorm content ideas when I'm stuck, tools like ChatGPT and automation platforms have been game-changers.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, start with one small thing you can automate—like scheduling posts or replying to FAQs.
Honestly, it’s saved me hours each week.
2. People Want to Buy From Brands With Heart
Let’s be real—everyone’s tired of the hard sell. I’ve noticed a major shift in what people respond to: transparency, values, and brands that actually care. Sustainability, ethical sourcing, community involvement—these aren't just nice-to-haves anymore.
I’ve started sharing more about where our materials come from and the “why” behind our products, and the response has been beautiful.
3. Smaller Creators, Bigger Impact
This year, I've been leaning into collaborations with micro-influencers—real people with real engagement. These are the people who reply to comments, share your brand genuinely, and honestly? They drive way more meaningful traffic than big accounts that charge thousands per post.
I love working with people who actually believe in what I’m creating—it makes all the difference.
4. Short-Form Video is Still King
I used to dread showing my face on camera, but now I see it as a powerful connection tool. TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts—these platforms thrive on realness, not perfection.
Behind-the-scenes moments, messy middles, packaging orders, even fails—people love it all.
Pro tip: Don’t overthink it. Start messy. Be yourself.
5. Direct-to-Consumer is More Powerful Than Ever
If you're running your business through platforms like Shopify, Etsy, or even social media shops, you're in the perfect spot. More brands are ditching middlemen and going straight to their people—and it’s working.
I’ve learned that owning your customer relationship (hello, email list!) is everything.
6. Personalization is the New Standard
This one has changed how I do email marketing. I’m now using tools that let me send tailored messages to people based on what they’ve clicked, bought, or asked about.
Think: "Hey Sarah, we saw you checking out the new drop—here's something we think you'll love."That kind of care? It matters.
The world of business is changing, but that’s not a bad thing. I’m leaning into the trends that align with my values and letting go of the pressure to do it all. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that connection beats perfection.
These aren’t just “trends”—they’re tools. Use them to build something real, meaningful, and uniquely you.
